ABSTRACT
Children all over the world have varied rates of learning and development. While a mqjority of children learn or acquire knowledge quite spontaneously depending on the stimuli, a small number of them struggle to acquire knowledge even under the best teachers given to them. The reason advanced by many scholars is that they have some restraining elements within thems~ves that interfere with normal learning. Consequently they are described as having special things, and they pause the greatest learning challenges to their teachers. This study was aimed at investigating challenges that teachers face in teaching learners with learning difficulties in Kiabonyoru zone, Ekerenyo division, Nyamira North district Kenya. As a result of poor performance by learners with learning difficulties, the blame is squarely thrown to teachers by parents, the study would help to find out and correct areas that needed intervention for the benefit of learners. To carry out the study, the researcher used quantitative research approach through a survey method of research. Data was collected by use of questionnaires with multiple choice answers. The researcher also used interview schedule to collect data from selected parents, bringing the total respondents to forty.
